Grady Thane Birdsong, the son of an oil field driller, tool pusher and a homemaker mother, was raised on the small-town values of “God, Mother, Country, and Apple Pie,” in that order. He grew up in central and southwest Kansas attending Southwestern College in Winfield, Kansas, before enlisting in the Marine Corps in 1966. After two combat tours in Northern I Corps of Vietnam, through the Tet offensive of 1968 and the DMZ area in 1969 he returned to Denver and finished his formal education at Regis University, Denver, Colorado. During his actual education, he traveled the globe, enjoying a successful career in engineering, marketing, technical sales and finally business development in the telecommunications, data systems, information technology systems and cable/fiber-optic network testing infrastructure industries. Now retired, Grady lives with his wife, Pamela, in the Denver area, where he enjoys his grandchildren, spends time writing, “puttering,” and hunting big game.
Grady has written technical manuals, product brochures, articles and white papers for various organizations, magazines and trade journals, presenting engineering and design applications to the Telecommunication and Data world. His other professional accomplishments include:
